Waste Management in Industrial Enterprises of Belarus: When the Amount Matters
This paper presents the results of the survey on waste management and third-party secondary raw materials usage at Belarusian industrial enterprises. The study examines the link between the amount of waste generated and waste management activities as well as the barriers for waste recovery. The analysis has revealed that when the annual amount of waste exceeds 1000 tons, industrial enterprises tend to use it and third-party secondary raw materials more actively in their own production. Lack of recycling technologies and economic infeasibility are perceived as the key constraints to waste reuse.
