Digital currencies of central banks: prospects and features of implementation

The paper presents the practices of some countries in introducing central bank digital currencies. The cases of Cambodia and the Bahamas, which have already introduced their CBDC, as well as the pilot project in Uruguay are presented. The central part of the study focuses on the principles and projects of digital currencies implementation in large countries (groups of countries) such as the European Union, China and Russia. The final part of the article provides recommendations of CBDC  introduction in Belarus.
