Green Economy Monitoring: Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism
The European Green Deal (EGD) is a new growth strategy. It is aimed at transforming the EU into a just and prosperous society with a resource-efficient and competitive economy that achieves carbon neutrality by 2050. This strategy aims not only at transforming the European economic system of production and consumption but also has important geopolitical implications. As part of the EGD, the European Commission is elaborating a legislative proposal for a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.
