Workshop on Digital Transformation in Industry and the Transition to Industry 4.0 with REFA

On June 27, 2019, BEROC Economic Research Center together with REFA organized and conducted a workshop on the digital transformation in industry and the transition to Industry 4.0, which was held at DoubleTree by Hilton in Minsk.

Dr. Oliver Störmer, Professor, Managing Director of REFA AG, who has many years of experience in the development of automotive companies, mechanical engineering, and light industry, spoke at the workhsop. Dr. Störmer specializes in controlling and management of industrial companies. He is a member of the supervisory boards since 2002, the companies of Germany and Switzerland, an honorary professor in Switzerland.

About REFA:

The Federal Union REFA (REFA-Bundesverband e.V.) is the German union for the organization of labor, organization and development of enterprises. The REFA Union was established in Germany in 1924 with the aim of increasing the efficiency of German enterprises in the machinery building industry. REFA is one of the largest organizations in Europe offering training and professional development services in the field of labor research and the organization of enterprises from various fields of activity. REFA has a unique set of proven methods and tools for the organization of the enterprise. The workshop reviewed the advanced German experience in digital transformation in the industry, the opening opportunities of Industry 4.0 and new challenges for enterprises. BEROC Director Pavel Daneyko made a welcoming speech at the workhsop.

The event was attended by representatives from government organizations whose activities are related to the formulation and implementation of state economic policy in industry, heads of industrial enterprises. Among the participants were representatives from the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy, concerns Bellesbumprom, Bellegprom and Belneftekhim. The business was represented by such organizations as AMKODOR OJSC - the managing company of the holding, OJSC Belaz - the managing company of the holding BelAZ-Holding, GPO Beltopgaz, GPO Belenergo, OJSC TSNIITU, OJSC Holding Management Company Minsk Motor Plant, Vityaz OJSC, Management Company Lidselmash Holding Company, Atlant CJSC.

The workshop is arranged with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
