The Third Student School

Belarusian Economic Research and Outreach Center (BEROC) in cooperation with the British Embassy Minsk organized the Third Student School in Modern Economics and Economic Research which was held in Minsk from September 14 to December 21, 2013.

The participants were introduced to the courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. Among the lectures there were BEROC economists who had obtained PhD both from leading Belarusian universities and abroad, as well as a visiting professor.

Working language of the school was English.

Participation in the Student School was free of charge. The project was held under the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the British Embassy Minsk.

The classes were held on Saturday or Sunday from 15:00 to 18:00 with one coffee-break. The total number of classes was 30 (15 days). The curriculum included intensive lectures, homework and group discussion. Those participants who attended all the classes and successfully passed the final exam got the certificates. It was obligatory to attend not less than 80% of classes.

Ninety one applicants took part in two-round completion process and eighteen students were selected to be the participants of the School.
