Workshop "FinTech and the Transformation in Financial System"
On August 16-17, 2018 BEROC and Training Center of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus organized a practice-oriented course FinTech and the Transformation in Financial System. Middle to high-level executives of banks and non-banking financial institutions took part in the course.
Speakers of the course presented main features of FinTech, blockchain technology, and bitcoin:
• Elena Loutskina (Darden Business School, University of Virginia)
• Anastasiya Luzgina (BEROC)
The course participants analysed the most promising FinTech areas, explored applications of blockchain technology, studied the main types of crowdfunding and peculiarities of ICOs.
The main goal of the course was to define a role and competitive advantages of the traditional financial institutions in the FinTech area.
