Workshop for Journalists "Social Consequences of the Pandemic and Necessary Steps to Protect People"

New online meeting with experts and journalists was held on May 29 within the project Open Dialogue on Economic Reforms.

The topic of the meeting was "Social Consequences of the Pandemic and Necessary Steps to Protect People". Belarusian office of the World Bank became the partner of this event.

The speakers of the event were:

  • Kateryna Bornukova, BEROC Academic Director, presented the results of the third wave of national population poll and told how the crisis affects Belarusians and what kind of governmental help they want to obtain;
  • Alex Kremer, Head of the World Bank Mission to Belarus, provided a short speech on the possibilities of improving the social support of the population;
  • Alexander Chubrik, IPM Research Center Director, talked about the social support steps to take in the crisis time.

The number of the participants of the event was 36 people, including journalists and thinktanks representatives.
