Seminar with Dr. Kirk Mildner

On October 9, 2018, within the framework of the green economy project, BEROC organized a seminar “Best Practices in Implementing Projects in the Area of Solid Wastes: Financing, Investment, Infrastructure”, which was held at DoubleTree by Hillton.

Dr. Kirk Mildner, a German expert who has significant experience in implementing infrastructure projects in the field of recycling and incineration of waste, wastewater treatment, as well as attracting investment and project financing, including in South-Eastern Europe, delivered a presentation and discussed experience of countries of Eastern Europe while implementing elements of a circular economy. In particular, the speaker went through the best practices in processing of solid chemical waste, attracting investments and financing projects in the waste management field. With more than 20 years of experience in infrastructure finance and development banking, Dr. Mildner joined KfW, the German development bank, in 1996 and worked on various positions, including director for Belarus, Ukraine and China. Currently he is heading a division for municipal infrastructure in South-East Europe and Turkey. He manages a portfolio of more than 3 billion EUR. He held numerous board positions in other banks and investment funds, including the Municipal Infrastructure Development Fund Luxembourg.

The event was attended by experts and specialists associated with the development and implementation of the state economic policy in the field of waste management and sustainable economic development of Belarus. Among others were those whose activities are related to the preparation and implementation of projects in this field.
