In 2025, BEROC conducted academic and applied research on the Belarusian economy. Research covered a broad range of areas, including economic and structural reforms, private sector development, financial systems, labor markets and migration, gender, and the green economy.
During the year, BEROC produced 8 working papers and 12 policy papers, combining academic research with policy-oriented analysis of Belarus’s economic development and future reform options.
BEROC researchers also continued to contribute to international academic research. Five papers were published in peer-reviewed international journals in 2025, while another five were submitted for publication. Collaboration with internationally trained researchers supported the use of advanced research methods and international academic standards and strengthened BEROC’s links with the broader international research community.
BEROC’s research continued to attract attention beyond academia. In 2025, BEROC research and analysis were cited 662 times in independent and international media. Research findings also contributed to wider expert and policy discussions on issues affecting the Belarusian economy.
The research environment remained challenging as access to official economic statistics became increasingly limited. BEROC researchers continued to adapt their methodologies, drawing on alternative data sources and indirect indicators where necessary to study economic developments and structural change.
Through its research and international academic cooperation, BEROC continues to contribute independent, evidence-based knowledge about the Belarusian economy and to maintain a strong connection between Belarusian economic research and the international academic community.
